It took a long time. Already in December last year I was allowed to build a birch bark canoe with bark from their Siberian homeland and spruce from Mecklenburg together with the two Russians Tjoma and Max. It was an experience that I will not forget.
At this year's Canadier meeting in September at the Dranser See the boat was finally put to its destination. The baptism took place with plenty of water - from above and below. A detailed description of the whole story can be found in Open Canoe Journal.
